Born in 1981 in Izmir, Turkey, Ozge Baykan studied Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University, Istanbul. Between 2003-2004 she lived and studied in Japan. In 2007 she completed her master's degree in journalism at the University of Westminster, London. Besides politics and literature, she is interested in photography, music, and contemporary arts.

Since 1999 she has worked as a journalist, editor and translator for magazines such as Genis Aci, Jazz, Travel+Leisure, Time Out Istanbul and alt.zine. She has also worked as an interpreter, assistant and reporter for several international media establishments including the Wall Street Journal and the BBC World Service.

Her poems have been published in magazines such as Varlik, Papirus and Private; and her stories in several Turkish magazines such as Hayalet Gemi, Esik Cini and NotosOyku.

Her novella “The Silent Man” was released as an e-book by Altkitap internet publishing house in 2000, and later in 2007 it was published in paperback by Notos Kitap. She contributed two short stories to the books “Deli Oykuler” and "Kahramanlar Kitabi” (Okuyanus Publishing House, 2003 and 2004 respectively).

She has translated numerous books from English to Turkish, including Sons of the Conquerors: The Rise of the Turkic World (Hugh Pope, Vatan, 2005); The City of Falling Angels (John Berendt, Vatan, 2006); Seize The Day (Saul Bellow, Iletisim, 2006); Leaving Microsoft (John Wood, Vatan, 2006) and Humboldt’s Gift (Saul Bellow, Iletisim, 2008).

She has also participated in several photography and contemporary arts exhibitions since 2000, including “All About Lies” in Apartment Project and “Visibility Project” in Galata, Istanbul, organized by Galata Perform.
